Touring recording artist Johnny Juarez will perform at Hunter College’s “Lang Theater”  Friday, May 24 from 7-9pm. Juarez, who lives in Buffalo, New York, is kicking off his first headlining tour called the “Better Tour” to support his latest album, “August Avenue.” New York is his fourth stop on the tour, as funded by popular crowd-funding website Kickstarter. His music is for fans of Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz and Motown lovers. Tickets are $10 and kids 10 & under are free.

“Thanks to our friends online we were able to raise over $3000 to fund this tour. Crowd-funding is great because it allows people to engage with their favorite indie artists and their projects using social media. The best part is that we have been able to bring smiles, fun and a good time to everybody. Our band likes to call it fun-shine,” says Juarez.

Johnny Juarez is a family-friendly performer. As a singer-songwriter who performs acoustic pop-rock-soul music, his original songs are uplifting. When he’s not touring, Juarez runs the Rock Zone Music School in Buffalo, which helps kids experience music education by performing in bands throughout the region.

Michael Buble was spotted in the NYC subway today, singing “Who’s Lovin’ You” with the group Naturally 7. He was at 67th (Lincoln Center) in Manhattan. Typical New Yorkers: they get off the subway train and barely notice him. However, there were plenty of female fans lingering around to see the Michael Buble and the men singing.
